The BM-21S is a multi spindle wood drilling machine built for workshops that drill the same row of holes hundreds of times a day. Twenty-one bits fire together across a 32 mm pitch, so a shelf-pin row or a dowel line that would take twenty-one passes on a single-spindle drill takes one.
Its drill head tilts continuously from 0 to 90 degrees, which is what separates it from a fixed bench borer: the same machine drills panel faces and panel edges without a second setup.

Where a multi spindle machine earns its keep
A multi spindle wood drilling machine is not faster because its spindle turns quicker. It is faster because the holes arrive together. The cycle time is one plunge instead of twenty-one, and - more importantly - every hole in the row shares one reference, so shelf pins and dowels line up without a jig.
That matters most in small-batch custom furniture, where a workshop changes panel type several times a day. The BM-21S keeps the row spacing adjustable, so a change of product does not mean a change of machine.
Why the 32 mm pitch decides what you can build
Cabinet hardware is designed around a 32 mm system. Shelf pins, hinge plates and system connectors are all positioned on that pitch, which is why a multi spindle wood drilling machine holds its spindles at 32 mm minimum centres rather than offering an arbitrary spread.
Drill a row off-pitch and the hardware still fits, one hole at a time. Drill it at 32 mm and the whole row lands in a single plunge. That is the difference between a machine that supports the system and one that fights it.

The drill head carries 21 quick-change bits on a 32 mm pitch. Pneumatic cylinders clamp the panel while the head plunges, and a digital readout sets boring depth in micrometre steps.
What is inside the machine
Build and working parts
Industrial components, not bench-tool parts
21-spindle drill head
Quick-change chucks take standard bits up to 24 mm, so a broken bit is a seconds-long swap.
0-90 degree head
The head tilts continuously on a scaled arc for face and edge drilling on the same machine.
Large working table
An 890 x 625 mm table that supports full cabinet sides without overhang or flex.
Pneumatic clamping
Cylinders hold the panel down while the head plunges, so the part cannot lift on retraction.
Imported linear guides
Ground guides keep the head tracking straight through thousands of cycles.
Continuous-duty motor
A 1.5 kW copper-wound motor rated for an eight-hour shift without heat-related drift.
None of that is exotic hardware. The point of this multi spindle wood drilling machine is that the parts are serviceable: guides, cylinders and chucks are standard items, so a workshop can keep the machine running without waiting on a specialist.
When it is the right machine
The BM-21S multi spindle wood drilling machine fits workshops where drilling is the bottleneck but panels are still handled flat, one at a time. Four signs point to it:
- Output is limited by drilling rather than by cutting or edge banding.
- Hole patterns repeat across a product family, such as shelf rows, dowel lines or hinge plates.
- Work is flat panel drilled on the face or the edge, not shaped components.
- Floor space or budget rules out a CNC boring centre.
Past that point - six faces in one clamping, or barcode-driven program changes - the step up is a CNC drilling centre rather than a larger multi spindle wood drilling machine.

Materials and typical work
The machine drills solid wood, MDF, chipboard and plywood. In cabinet shops it is normally set up for four jobs:
- Shelf-pin rows on cabinet sides and uprights, drilled at system pitch in one pass.
- Dowel lines on panel edges, with the head tilted to 90 degrees.
- Hinge plate and connector positions on door and carcass panels.
- Series drilling for flat-pack components, where the same row repeats across dozens of identical parts.
Installation and commissioning
The BM-21S ships 95 percent assembled in an export plywood crate, treated with rust-inhibiting oil and wrapped in moisture-proof film. Unpacking and commissioning come down to four steps:
Operators usually reach working speed within a few hours, because the controls amount to a depth readout, an angle scale and a clamp switch.
- Place the machine on a level floor and check the chassis is not rocking.
- Connect 380 V power (220 V on request) and an air line regulated to 6 bar.
- Set the drill head angle on the integrated scale and lock it.
- Load quick-change bits, set boring depth on the digital readout, and run a test panel.
FAQ
Q: Can this multi spindle wood drilling machine drill both horizontally and vertically?
A: Yes. The drill head adjusts continuously from 0 to 90 degrees, so the same machine switches between edge drilling and face drilling without a second setup.
Q: Which drill bits does the BM-21S use?
A: Standard quick-change bits on a 32 mm pitch, with a maximum drilling diameter of 24 mm.
Q: How many holes can it drill at once?
A: Twenty-one, one per spindle, with the minimum centre distance between spindles at 32 mm.
Q: What power and air supply does it need?
A: A 1.5 kW motor on 380 V three-phase as standard, or 220 V to order, plus compressed air regulated to 6 bar.
Q: Is it assembled on arrival?
A: It ships 95 percent pre-assembled in an export plywood crate, with a video guide covering angle calibration, bit loading and depth setting.
Q: What does the warranty cover?
A: One year on major components including the 1.5 kW motor, plus lifetime technical support by email or video and stocked wear parts for fast shipment.
