An automatic edge banding machine mainly consists of a machine body, various processing units, and a control system. The main processing components include: pre-milling, gluing, edge banding, trimming, rough finishing, fine finishing, contour tracking, edge scraping, polishing, and grooving. It is primarily used for edge banding of panel furniture. Its characteristics are automation, high efficiency, high precision, and aesthetic appeal.

 

Firstly, in the fully automatic edge banding machine's machine body, the most crucial part related to accuracy is the upper and lower crossbeams, as they determine whether the processed board can move in a straight line, ensuring that each processing unit operates precisely. The crossbeams are mainly divided into two categories: First, aluminum alloy crossbeams, formed in one piece by drawing and casting; second, cast iron crossbeams.

 

Second, the key part of the machine body is the base. A more advanced method is to laser-cut steel plates and weld them in one piece. The advantage is a sturdy and deformation-free machine body, thus increasing the overall stability. A less advanced method is to weld the frame and then add steel plates; the disadvantage is poor stability, but the advantage is low price.

 

Third, major CNC module manufacturers can independently design them, and most have applied for patent protection. Feeding speeds have reached advanced international levels. Currently, advanced PLCs include the LG series and Siemens series.

 

Fourth, the mechanisms and structures of the various components are basically similar. Corresponding components can be added or removed according to actual processing needs. Among them, the contour tracking technology is the most difficult. Although the machining process ensures the precision of the components, the need for precise control of the PLC's actions, cutting depth, and contour angle means that only a few large domestic manufacturers currently have relatively mature contour tracking technology.
