The moving worktable is the key part of the sliding table saw and the main difference between it and ordinary circular saws. The moving worktable consists of a bracket, lower guide rail, rollers, and a push table surface. Its significant features are: (1) easy and labor-saving operation, large pushing stroke, and large cutting width; (2) equipped with a sturdy and lightweight carriage, ensuring smooth operation; (3) the moving worktable and main saw blade can be adjusted by 45 degrees, expanding the saw's application range. Some saws are also equipped with milling devices, allowing for groove and tongue-and-groove processing with widths between 30-50mm.
Operational Characteristics of the Sliding Table Saw
Precision panel saws undergo dynamic or static balancing and generally do not require a foundation; they can be placed on a flat surface. During processing, the workpiece is placed on the moving worktable, and the worktable is manually pushed to achieve feed motion. Operation is very convenient and flexible. Safety should be constantly considered during operation to prevent accidents.
Main Technical Parameters of Sliding Table Saws
Sliding table saws are available in a series of specifications. The main parameter is the maximum sawing length, generally ranging from 2000 to 5000 mm. The Chinese industry standard JB/T9950-1999, "Parameters of Woodworking Panel Saws with Moving Worktables," specifies three specifications: 2000 mm, 2500 mm, and 3150 mm.
Design Directions for Sliding Table Saws
my country began importing, surveying, and producing sliding table saws in the early 1980s. More than 20 woodworking machinery manufacturing enterprises now produce sliding table saws, with an annual output of approximately 4,000 units. This has largely replaced imported products and met domestic demand.
